Step-by-Step Solution #
Step 1: Find All Duplicate Listings #
Search for your business:
- Google Maps search for your business name
- Google search for “your business name + city”
- Check your Google Business Profile dashboard for multiple locations
- Search by address to find hidden duplicates
Step 2: Identify Which Profile to Keep #
Choose the profile that has:
- The most reviews
- Verification status
- Most complete information
- Correct category and name
Step 3: Mark Duplicates for Removal #
For each duplicate:
- If you own it: Sign in and request removal
- If you don’t own it: Report it as a duplicate
- Document all duplicates (screenshots, URLs)
Step 4: Request Duplicate Removal #
For profiles you own:
- Sign in to the duplicate profile
- Click Info → Close or remove this listing
- Select Remove this listing
- Confirm removal
For profiles you don’t own:
- Find the duplicate on Google Maps
- Click Suggest an edit
